Changes at crisis nursery call for prayer
By Nancy Dimmock
Interesting
things have been happening at the Crisis Nursery during
the past several
months, and
we want you to be aware so that you can
be praying with us. At the end of February, our social worker,
Mrs. Kumwenda, resigned suddenly due to pressures (illness) within
her family. In March, Mrs. Makawa, the receptionist/bookeeper
went on maternity leave. (She delivered a healthy baby
boy named Daniel,
after his father!). In April, Mrs. Maloya, the new Director,
was offered the opportunity of furthering her education
and resigned
suddenly.
Also in April, I was called to the States to help my two sons
who are in college there. Meanwhile, the Nursery has been unusually
full over
the past several months, averaging 20 babies or more. The “mothers” have
been working extra hard and we hired another shift of three on a contract
basis, (i.e. “on call”) to help them. The mothers have all
done an exceptional job of caring for the babies during these stressful
months, and without much supervision! They have been fantastic and are
such a blessing to the ministry – each one of them.
What is God doing? It is certainly hard to understand. But we continue
to trust Him. These precious babies are His and He will continue to
provide for their care. Mrs. Makawa will return from maternity leave
on April
25, and I am back to help with administration and communication. But
we really need your prayers for wisdom in finding the person God has
in mind to lead this part of Ministry of Hope into the future. Thank
you so much for your faithful support.
