As of May 2025, Ministry of Hope now owns both an office building and Crisis Nursery building in Lilongwe. Both of these structures are converted-residential houses.
The Lord brought this miracle about when the Executive Director, Daniel Moyo found a buyer for unused land and unfinished buildings owned by Ministry of Hope.
This move will eliminate the ministry's costly rental expenses, and reduced overhead expenses mean more donor gifts can go directly to caring for the children. The proceeds from the sale were used to purchase the current office building and buy a nearby residential property to be used as the new crisis nursery. The sale and the purchases were supported by both the Malawi and the US MoH boards. The Chairperson of the Malawi Board, Rizine Mzikamanda guided the organization though the legal process of the sale and the purchases.
The sale of the unused property provided enough money to purchase both buildings and have some additional money left for renovations.
"At long last, Ministry of Hope now owns a house for the Crisis Nursery. A permanent place for the children," said Catherine Thom, director of the Crisis Nursery. "House rentals have been taking a big portion of the funds that were allocated for Crisis Nursery making it difficult to achieve other essential activities that go directly to the children and motivation to the care caregivers. .....To me this blessing is in short just an opening of the best moments at Crisis Nursery."
