The solar-powered irrigation systems installed by Malawi Visions in Khwamba, Chimwang’ombe, Selengo, Matapila, and Katondo are transforming community gardens into hubs of productivity. Normally, these gardens would wither during the dry season, leaving them barren and unproductive. However, thanks to these systems, vegetables and fruits can now flourish year-round, providing essential sustenance for the community centers. Key crops such as maize, bananas, tomatoes, onions, and cassavas are thriving, improving food security and supporting local livelihoods even in the most challenging seasons.
