As we approach the 14th year of the Lean Season Project in 2024/25, we reflect on the impact we’ve made since its inception in 2011. From initially feeding 650 children to now providing support for 7,400 children and 100 vulnerable adults last season, the journey has been truly inspirational. While Ministry of Hope continues to strategically overcome the root causes of poverty through education and training, the annual “hunger” season remains a reality in many remote villages of Malawi where we serve.
Led by the vision of Lean Season Coordinator, Peter Barbano, we not only nourish the bodies of these children but also provide them with academic, social, and spiritual guidance. The upcoming Lean Season, from October ’24 to March ’25, poses significant threats due to anticipated food shortages and rising food prices. Because of the urgency of the situation and the vulnerability of the children, your support will make a big impact toward relieving anxiety and suffering. We ask you to consider making a generous contribution to support the Lean Season Program. Every gift is meaningful for children being nourished!
